Garage Foundation 1

Work has started on the garage foundation. These are the forms for the footings.


The cement for the footings is being poured here.

These are the poured walls for the foundation. The next stage will be the back filling of the dirt/rock around and in the foundation. Then the floor will be poured.

Foundation Hole is Dug

This is the messy foundation we had in back of the house that will become our garage. As you can see they have started digging the foundation hole.


The existing foundation is being removed.


The digging is completed; fortunately they had a big power shovel since the digging was all in rock ledge.

Great Room Photos

The room is not finished yet but it is still looking pretty good. Here are a couple of photos of the Great Room. We can't believe that all this furniture fit in our small house we just sold.

Air Conditioner and Messy Foundation

This is one thing we are really glad we installed in the house...an air conditioner. With the weather as it has been this summer it really came in handy. This is one thing we said we must have in the new house.


Tomorrow they are going to start working on the garage foundation. They are going to tear out the existing walls and fill in the hand dug well.


The existing foundation is quite the eyesore and within a week we will have the slab in place.

Holding the Chandelier

I am low on things to post so here I am holding a chandelier for my wife to decide which style to choose. As you can see from previous photos, we did not pick this style.

I will have more to post in the next few days, the floor in our room will be completed tomorrow.

WE MOVED IN

Sorry I have not posted for the last few weeks but we have been flat out busy.(My Aunt and Uncle dropped by to see it I was OK since I have not posted for so long). We had to pack everything, get the house ready to sell. Also, had to do our day jobs. We moved last Friday in the morning and then had to rototill the back yard in the old house. Saturday we put sod in that house. We are still moving somethings from the old house and tomorrow we have to do the final cleaning. Things are starting to fall into place here, slowly but surely. I just hooked up the washer and dryer today.

This is the boiler under construction; it is in working order now.

I will try to post on a regular basis, there is still a lot going on. My wife will not let me post photos of the inside yet. There is still some moving boxes and floor boards leaning on the walls.

Chandeliers and Floors

Today the electrician installed almost all the lights. The one's we have been waiting for are the chandeliers in the greatroom. We thing they look awesome! You may notice that they are painted slightly different, they have the same colors but they are opposite of each other, kind of a mirror image.




This is the "special" floor I spoke of a few days ago. These are called Flexi Tile and they are made of PVC. The have a very rubber like feel and they kind of snap together like a jigsaw puzzle, but he linking is hidden so they look like real tiles. Friends of ours have a floor like this and my wife really liked it so we decided to change it up a little and have at least one room with this. You may notice they have footprints on them, the house is still covered with sheetrock dust and it gets on everything.
